There's only one thing that causes excitement in a firehouse - a fire. Unless it's the Fairmount Engine Company # 2 firehouse in Norristown, PA. Then add Silver Strike Bowling to the list!

Sweepstakes_logoSSB might not get your blood pumping like running into a blazing building, but don't tell Steve Keeley that. The veteran fireman has his firehouse buzzing about bowling after he won a $10,000 American Airlines Travel Voucher in the February sweepstakes!

"The guys can't stop talking about it!" exclaimed the Norristown native. "It's just awesome. It's exciting."

Keeley thought he had missed all the excitement when a call went out for a big fire on February 29. On the other side of town, Keeley couldn't make it back to the firehouse in time. But little did he know his excitement was just getting started.

Steve_keeleyWhile holding down the fort until the trucks returned, Keeley and a fellow fireman decided to start up a game of Silver Strike Bowling. Despite having only had the machine put in their firehouse a month earlier, the whole fire crew was hooked on the game. And everyone wanted a shot at the firehouse champ - Keeley.

His buddy swiped his card and everything loaded up normally. But when Keeley tried to swipe his it seemed to take a while. And then the screen popped up.

"It said I was a winner," commented Keeley. "I couldn't believe it. I went online immediately to figure out what I'd won. And when I found out it was a $10,000 travel voucher I was surprised!"

For 38 years, Keeley has been dealing with heat. But that's not stopping him from thinking about warm sand beaches and a hot sun on his face. Only weeks after winning, he's already knows where he's going to celebrate.

"Disneyland!" exclaimed Keeley. "The grandkids have been squawking to go to Disney for a while and I have a friend in California I'd like to see. But I think I'm going to try and spoil my wife and fly first class to Hawaii. She's never left the East coast so I think she'd like that."
