Qualifiers Top 100 as National Tourney Enters Third Week

National Leaders

After two weeks 135 players have already played the 100 games needed to qualify for the SSB Nationals at the Palms Casino/Resort.  Qualifying continues through May 31.  The live finals in Vegas are June 20-21.

The play has been fast and furious and the scores needed to be top qualifier are rising every day.  Here’s a snapshot of where things are as of Tuesday, April 29.:

  • Top qualifier in the Northeast is Charles Whalley of Indianapolis.  Charles has a 717-pin lead over Joe Kostelnik.
  • In the Southeast it’s Christopher Beverly who leads the pack.  Christopher of Conway SC leads Joshua Myers by 1,013 sticks so far.
  • In the Midwest Matthew Kisling of Cedar Rapids IA took over first place.  He made a huge move on Mike Cornwell during the past seven days.  He leads Mike by 785 pins.
  • And in the West Kevin Bonney of Omaha holds a slim 349-pin lead over James Krull.

The leaders in each region earn a $400 bonus along with their $600 travel expenses for Vegas.  It’s clear that the leaders are men on a mission.  Do you have what it takes to be the best?  Check the leaderboards throughout the day for updates from SSB Tournament Central!
