Lloyd McFarland Prevails in the Most Competitive Bowlapalooza Contest Yet!

Sheboygan's finest bowling prodigy finally has a Bowlapalooza title to add to his growing list of Silver Strike accolades. Lloyd "Mac" McFarland can really roll, and he really proved it throughout the July Jam.

The Wisconsin native and 2008 Silver Strike Nationals runner-up ended the July Jam in first place with a 289.92 average, thanks in large part to some very timely and accurate shooting!

"I had really slumped the week prior, and a lot of the top players pretty much caught up to me," McFarland said. "I knew I had to get some good games in or there was a good chance I was going to get bumped out of first. Luckily I managed to do just that."

Did he ever! On the last day of qualifying Mac put up a 289 and three 300-games! By doing so he wrapped up a great month of SSB and solidified the top spot for the month of July.

"I really needed that last day, and the 300-games were obviously huge," Lloyd said. "I pretty much knew at that point that someone was going to need an insane day of scores to beat me. Don't get me wrong, I was still really nervous until I saw the final leaderboard!"

Nebraska's Rob Wright certainly gave it his all in trying to catch McFarland. His average of 287.56 was good for second. Indianapolis native Charles Whalley rounded out the top 3 with an average of 285.72. Lucas Oppeneer, also bowling out of Sheboygan, came in fourth with a 284.68 average score.

Coming in fifth was Beech Grove, Indiana's Ron Hammersley. This marks the first time that "The Hammer" has finished outside the top spot! You can expect a determined Hammersley in Bowlapalooza's final event, the August Encore.

After coming up just short in the June Headliner, Lloyd McFarland is a Bowlapalooza champion.
