It's the final stretch of Bowlapalooza, and some of the game's top players are going all out to make a last stand.
Beech Grove, Indiana's Ron Hammersley is looking to add some more hardware to his trophy case. The 67-year-old has already claimed two of the first three monthly contests and is making a statement as time winds down. His 286.24 average was tops as of Friday, August 14th.
Not to be outdone is Indianapolis bowler "Deadeye" Del Flecker. The 2008 SSB Nationals third place finisher has been on a mission in the August Encore, and currently sits second with an average of 283.92.
Rounding out the top five are three dangerous bowlers that are one hot streak away from taking over first. Nebraska's Rob Wright sits third (279.16), Indianapolis sharpshooter Telly Rogers is fourth (275.40), while Sheboygan bowler and last month's winner Lloyd McFarland has jumped into the running and sits fifth (273.20).
With August 25th still more than a week away, a lot can change at the top and middle of the leaderboard. If you haven't participated in a Bowlapalooza event or the August Encore, be sure to do so before time runs out!
Just swipe your card and play twenty-five games between now and August 25th. From here you'll be placed on the August Encore leaderboard, but you certainly shouldn't stop here! Play as many games as you'd like to get your average where you want it. A bad game can't hurt you as only your top twenty-five games count towards your leaderboard score!
Our summer contest is nearing it's end! There's still time, get in on the action today! Stay tuned to Silverstrikebowling.com for updates and visit the official Bowlapalooza website for more!
