A Fitting End

The Summer Fun Comes to a Close With Del Flecker Nearing Perfection!

Four months of competitive online bowling has officially come and gone, but boy of boy did our final contest go out with a bang!

It was a three horse race going into the final days of the August Encore, and our three participants never took their foot off the pedal. When the clock struck midnight on August 26th, however, Bowlapalooza officially concluded and our fourth and final champion was crowned! Del Flecker

In the end, it was Indianapolis sharp shooter "Deadeye" Del Flecker holding off his anxious competitors and winning the August Encore! Del finished the twenty-five day period with fifteen 300-games and a low score of 290! It was his unbelievable streak between August 21st through the 23rd that really carried him to victory, as he ripped off an unthinkable eight 300-games in that time span!

Del's jaw-dropping 298 average was tops for the August Encore, and it was also the top monthly average seen throughout the four month marathon! For his efforts he takes home the top prize of a thousand bucks!

Surging back and closing the gap was Bowlapalooza's biggest star Ron Hammersley. The 67-year-old Beech Grove bowler made a contest out of our final event, rolling thee 300s on the final day to move up from third to second. He ended the August Encore with an average of 296.48. As a whole, Hammersley won two of the monthly contests, took second in one, and fifth in the other – and unbelievable showing to say the least.

Nebraska's Rob Wright slipped one spot since our last update, but his August Encore performance was truly outstanding. He finished up just behind Hammersley in third with an average of 296.28. By doing so, he really establishes himself as one of Silver Strike's premier players.

Thanks to everyone that participated in not only the August Encore, but each and every Bowlapalooza contest. It's hard to believe, but the May Opener, June Headliner, July Jam, and finally the August Encore have wrapped up.

What an unbelievable summer of SSB!
