Time For An SSB League!

Town and Country Amusements Show Off Their League in This Priceless Video!

The days are getting shorter, the air is getting cooler, and slowly but surely people are migrating indoors. After a great season, the golf clubs have been cleaned a tucked away, and sweatshirts are wiggling their way to the front of the closet. Summer has officially come to a close.

For some, this means a long season of cold weather and cabin fever, for others, however, this is really where the fun begins. It's bowling season, baby.

Leagues have already kicked into gear at alleys around the country, and perspective lanesmiths are doing their best to raise the average from the year before.

The same can be said for those looking to hit a ball instead of rolling one. Operators and locations with Silver Strike machines have also started setting up bowling leagues for interested bar patrons.

They're quick, easy, cheap, and provide hours of entertainment all the while playing everyone's favorite bowling game. Don't believe me? Check out this video that was posted by Town and Country Amusements promoting their SSB bowling leagues. Talk about having a good time!

If you're a player simply looking to form your own league, here's how to potentially get one started. Find out who might be interested in joining and gauge about how many players you are expecting to have.

Talk to your location and/or operator and see if there's any help they might provide in terms of drink specials, deals, etc, for your group. While this isn't a sure thing, you'd be surprised how open some locations are when you tell them how much business you might bring in.

If you're on your own, bring score sheets or a computer and keep track of games and averages on a weekly basis. Don't make too much work out of it, unless you want to. Some operators may be very willing to help you in this process and there's certainly no harm in asking.

The most important part of this is to enjoy the game and enjoy yourselves while you play. It's always fun to play SSB with buddies, and it could be even more fun to have something like a league average to shoot for. Plus, you could always make a YouTube™ video out of it!

Cold weather? No worries, there's always Silver Strike!
