No one has meant more to the world of Silver Strike over the past few years than Cedar Rapids native Mike Cornwell.
The 2008 Silver Strike national champion completed a storied title run only days after dealing with the devastation of the Iowa floods. His family-owned bar, the Double Inn, was severely damaged throughout this time and Mike almost couldn't make it to Vegas for the tournament.
With his dad's blessing, Mike did make it to the national championship, and the rest is history. Now, the renovated and redone Double Inn is one of the nicest bars in Cedar Rapids thanks to the hard work, effort, and money the Cornwell's put into it.
Which brings us to today, and after a second place finish at last fall's Tournament of Champions (losing only to best buddy Dan Bailey), Mike has proved his game is just as good on the newest update.
Mike fired a 300-game (actually, he managed to nail two) in the first few days of the Silver Strike LIVE era. His buddy Dan Bailey also managed to nail one in this time and will be featured on Silverstrikebowling.com in the near future. What a perfect way to open up a new club for Silver Strike Bowlers!
Congratulations to Mike on a job well done!
Those who have managed to roll a 300-game should have their achievements recognized, and they can in both Silver Strike Bowler's Club and Silver Strike LIVE. Submit a photo of yourself next to the Silver Strike leaderboard that displays your perfect game, along with your name, address and the location you played at to SSB300Club@itsgames.com. Once verified, you will be added to the ultra-elite membership list and get featured on Silverstrikebowling.com!
