Skill Points made their debut in Silver Strike LIVE and strikes haven't been the same since. While they were added as a tiebreaker for the game, they also were added as a helping hand for players looking to know just how good their strikes really were.
For those of you still unfamiliar or unaware of how they work, here's the jist. The better the strike, the higher the Skill Points. The ideal strike, meaning the pins would fall quickly and as planned, would result in the max of 1000 points. Other strikes that might be the result of a lucky bounce or a non-pocket strike would result in far less points.
This means over the course of a single game, the highest amount of Skill Points a player could receive is 12,000 total. This would be the result of twelve consecutive perfect strikes. Sounds impossible, right? Well, we thought so too.
Indianapolis bowler Telly Rogers has spent some serious time in the SSB spotlight in the last few weeks and deservedly so. He was the first to nail a 300 in Spare Challenge and also narrowly missed out on a 900-series.
While some of the other top players had been gunning for this so-called "Perfect-Perfect" that we had just described above, Telly once again beat them to the punch.
On July 9th, Telly did the unthinkable. He rolled a perfect 300-game and topped the achievement off by finishing with 12,000 Skill Points!
For many, a 300-game would be the top of the mountain, but these are the kind of accolades some of SSB's premier players have been shooting for.
Congrats to Telly on a job well done! Now where do we go from here?
